Orders, Shipping & Troubleshooting

UPDATE: 7 FEBRUARY 2022

For the safety of our employees, we are processing and shipping orders from our Delhi office and warehouse once per week. Orders completed by 11am on Mondays will be shipped by Wednesday evening, leaving a day for sanitation. Orders placed in the rest of the week will ship the following week.

Shipping times and procedures

As per our COVID-19 pandemic protocol, orders are processed once a week, on Mondays. They are then shipped on Wednesdays, leaving a day in the middle for sanitation. This is valid for all orders placed by 11am on Mondays.

All orders are shipped by courier. Please note that in case courier services have been affected in your area, your order may be sent via an India Post method of equivalent value and safety.

Once your order has been handed over to the courier, we are not in control of shipping times. 

Returns & cancellations

Orders once placed cannot be cancelled or returned. 

In the rare likelihood of stock availability mismatches, where some items from your order are not available, we will contact you by email or phone before shipping, to replace the unavailable item with any other item on our shop of the same value, or to provide you with a gift voucher of that value. 

We pack our books carefully and with love to avoid damage during transit. Unfortunately, if there is such damage during the courier process, we cannot be responsible for this. However, if there is there is something wrong with the books you have received, please send us an email at contact@zubaanbooks.com with your order number and the exact issue you are facing. Please include photographs if there is a quality issue.

Ebook purchasing

If you have purchased an ebook, you will receive a download link for the title once you complete your order. This will be visible on the completed order page as well as in your order confirmation email in your inbox. The order confirmation is an automated email and might sometimes be delayed by a few hours.

If you do not receive the email with the link within 6 hours of your order, please email us at contact@zubaanbooks.com with your order number and the issue you are facing. Please include screenshots if there is a technical issue.

Please note that we cannot handle shipping, order or packaging issues if you have purchased Zubaan books from another website. However, if you are facing a printing issue with any of our titles, please email us at contact@zubaanbooks.com with photographs of the problem so we can try to solve it.

Online ordering

Online ordering can be glitchy — please make sure you correctly enter all card information, addresses, and don’t let payment pages time out. Please note that we cannot resolve payment process resolve issues originating from your bank. If you are experiencing trouble with Zubaan’s store that you believe is not one of the issues mentioned above, please email us with supporting screenshots and any other order details that you have at contact@zubaanbooks.com.

However, as we are a tiny business made up of a handful of individuals, we do not have the resources to outsource 24×7 customer service the way global behemoths can. Therefore, we resolve customer issues individually, writing to you and responding to queries by email. This is possible only during our business hours of 10am-6pm on weekdays.
